During my first few months here, I’ve spoken to fellows, alumni, external partners and funders, board and staff members. I was searching for the description of the magic here. And I think I’ve found it!

Over the last several years, Our Turn has expanded our work across the country – learning from partner organizations, school districts, campaigns, and most of all, our students. This time has offered us the opportunity to create big visions, meet new people, and have great conversations.

Now we are at a moment that requires depth in what we do best – leadership development – to reach our vision: a world filled with leaders who are capable and courageous enough to recognize and dismantle barriers so communities thrive.

This summer and in the next school year, we will be streamlining and strengthening our programmatic work to focus squarely on leadership development and local action. That is the core of our work – without it, our campaigns would not be possible, nor would our thought leadership, or the potential for future school boards to be run with students in mind.
