Do you believe DPS needs to immediately and urgently address student needs for more mental health and social emotional supports in schools?
After last schools years safety conversations, are you wondering what's next and how do I stay involved?
Do you have ideas about how your K-12 education could improve, but you can't find the space to share your voice and take action?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should join us at our last student house meeting of the month, Wednesday, September 27 at 5:00 pm to build community with fellow young people and learn how to take action in DPS this year! As a new school year starts in DPS, we are coming together with students, young alumni, and interested youth to determine what policies and changes we should hold the district accountable to enacting.
At this meeting we will analyze the DPS Report Card, a student authored report that stated clearly how students and alumni view the district and what needs to change. We are excited to dive further into this report and hear your feedback at our youth-centered feedback sessions over the next few months. Be one of the first to have your voice heard and sign up for our first House Meeting/Strategy Session. At the event you'll have the opportunity to read the report, heard from leaders who were central in its creation, and share your feedback on how we can take action on student recommendations.
