Alumni Coffee Chat w/ Malaika Eban!
WHEN

October 26, 2023 at 5:00pm - 6pm Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Back by popular demand, join us for our first Alumni Coffee Chat conversation of the school year. Alumni coffee chats are a networking opportunity for young people in our network to engage with alumni and learn about their professional journey in social impact. We’re kicking off the series with North Carolina alum Maliaka Eban! See Malaika's bio below:

Malaika Eban works as the Executive Director at the Legal Rights Center, a nonprofit community defense law firm in Minneapolis. A graduate of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and University of Minnesota School of Social Work, Malaika's work and interests lie in building more equitable and just community care networks, particularly focusing on transforming the youth justice system's interactions with youth and families. As an undergraduate at UNC Chapel Hill, Malaika led SFER North Carolina’s work, supporting chapters at schools across the state and carrying out successful policy campaigns. Malaika’s experience includes direct programming with youth and families, issue-based advocacy with community-based coalitions, racial equity facilitation, political campaign management, and nonprofit development. She's a Licensed Graduate Social Worker and an active member of her community in South Minneapolis with her husband Kenneth (another former SFER student leader), and their cat Mila.
