What is a Student Issues Assembly?

  • Allowing students to relate and identify differences is the core of coalition building.
  • A convening of young people on a specific issue, or to conduct an issue selection process to support advancing their interests in the public education system
  • An opportunity for student-centered community education that provides a historical lens that is accurate and inclusive, covers current issues and offers a root cause analysis
  • A chance to connect via celebrating Student Power and the future of education!

The Atlanta Student Issues Assembly is the space to do just that- meet other students, learn about the State of Public Education and share your perspectives on the most pressing concerns of today's learners and leaders.

This day-long event will feature door-entry raffle prizes, a catered meal and workshops. Followed by what is sure to be the hottest student party in Atlanta, we will end the evening celebrating Student Power with music, games, and refreshments.

Meet us at U. Studio on Ralph David Abernathy in the historic West End of Atlanta on Saturday, September 17th from 12PM-6PM.

The Student Issues Assembly is completely free and open to ALL Atlanta area high school students. Transportation support is available via Lyft or gas gift cards for those who need it! RSVP to receive the link to the transportation request form.
